As I mentioned last time, I was still confined to my bed when the kids came to meet Alice the first time. The next morning I was up and prepared to take pictures. But before they got there, I took advantage of the beautiful morning light coming out of my window to take some “fresh” pictures of my sweet girl.
Then the rest of my brood came to see me. Having all eight of us in that small room was always an experience :) Everyone was so enamored with their new sister.
I adore these pictures of Jack. You just know exactly what is going on and what he wants :)
Jack, waiting patiently to hold his sister… and making faces for the camera
Henry meeting Alice was an… interesting experience. The first day, every time he got within arms reach of her, he tried mauling her face. He knew there was a big reason to be excited over this new little bundle, but we couldn’t get him to be soft with her (even though he knows how to be soft). The next day he calmed down enough to be soft and so he got to hold her for a little while.
But not for long :)
They wanted to come to visit again that night but I wasn’t feeling up for it. It doesn’t seem to matter whether you have just had surgery or not, watching your young children in a new environment is exhausting and as much as I missed all of my kids, I wasn’t up for doing it twice in one day :)
