In the photography world, the term “fresh 48” is what we call pictures taken within 48 hours of the baby’s birth. After my family left (and a nap) I broke out my new lens and utilized the light coming in from the big window in my room to take some of Alice. I can’t tell you how much I love these photos. She already looks so different just over a week later and I’m so glad I have them.
This is my all time favorite picture of her (so far). If I were the kind of person to send out birth announcements, then this is the one I would choose.
And this is where my new lens shows it’s fabulousness. Just look at her soft skin and tiny little tongue! I’m dying!
You can even see all of the tiny hairs on her angel face.
All of that lizard skin is peeling off now, but it’s still so wonderful.
And just because I love it so much, here is that first picture again. Matt was so worried that I wouldn’t be happy with the pictures from her birth. But I can’t imagine anyone doing a better job (not to mention letting me edit them the way I like them). My only regret is that I didn’t get a picture of the first time he held her.
